Brighter Bharat by PM Modi: A Journey of Ambition, Grit and Passion

Today, as we celebrate the birthday of “Architect of Viksit Bharat@2047” and “Leader of Empowered Citizens”. At this significant moment, we reflect on the past year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during his third consecutive term, which began in 2024 as the head of the world's largest democracy. From policy to diplomacy, he has left no sector isolated and has guided Bharat to be “Atmanirbhar”.

PM Modi’s tenure began with the implementation of three new criminal laws on July 1, 2024, which marked a departure from the colonial legacy and provided a new framework to address modern-day challenges. While upholding constitutional values in governance, his tenure witnessed historic milestones such as the first time legislative assembly elections were conducted in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir from September 18 to October 1, 2024, post the abrogation of Article 370.

Further reinforcing federalism and promoting accountable democracy, the “One Nation One Election Bill” was introduced in the Lok Sabha in December 2024 with the backing of a High-level committee report. Now, in context to the economic sector, on June 16, 2025, India became the fourth-largest economy in the world by overtaking Japan and on the way to surpassing Germany by 2028. Also, India is walking the talk by having 6.5% of GDP in FY2025, which is more than the global average.

With global trade in mind, on July 24, 2025, India signed a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the UK that aims to significantly boost trade.

The key feature of INDIA-UK (CETA) is duty-free access for Indian goods to the UK, with the shared goal of doubling bilateral trade by 2035.

PM’s Doctrine has not only focused on trade but also balanced infrastructural development, including the inauguration of  Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension project-II in NCR on August 17, 2025, facilitating connectivity and reducing travel time. Also under his tenure, three new Vande Bharat trains were launched from KSR Bengaluru on August 10, 2025, expanding India’s semi-high-speed rail network.

With 150 Vande Bharat in operation, we see connectivity from north to south, from east to west, enhancing people-to-people ties within Bharat.

Projects including the inauguration of the Chenab bridge on June 6, 2025, Pamban-bridge (India’s first sea-bridge) on April 6, 2025 and the recent inauguration of Mizoram's first railway line on September 14, 2025, demonstrate the commitment of our respected PM towards infrastructure.

With the goal of "Sahkar-se-Samriddhi" (Cooperation to Prosperity) in mind and vision for empowering Garib (poor), Mahilayen (women), Yuva (youth) and Annadata (farmer), we have our new “National Policy for Cooperatives 2025” providing a robust platform for empowering citizens.

And as per the Major schemes during his tenure, we see extension of PM Awas Yojana providing houses to an additional three crore rural and urban beneficiaries, skilling of youth under internship scheme, expansion of Agricultural Infrastructure fund(AIF), environment-led initiatives like PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana providing economic and environmental sustainability, revision of One Rank One Pension and many more milestones under the chairmanship of PM.

PM Modi is not only the leader of the world’s fourth-largest economy but also a global leader under whose leadership India has extended its ties from west to east and enhanced its International Relations.

Even global leaders appreciate his presence, like the appreciation statement made by Mr Putin, “The Indian government, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, has been creating stable conditions, driven by a policy of putting India first. We believe that investing in India is profitable”.Additionally, some global leaders call him “the boss” as a statement was made by Mr Albanese.

This demonstrates his leadership on a global platform and charismatic personality that is beyond the territory of India. His vision to make India a “Developed-Economy” is echoed from his speeches to policy-in-action, acting as a guiding principle for every citizen of India to be an “empowered citizen of Viksit Bharat”.

Now, in the context of the Defence Sector, we have witnessed capability-led growth. Projects like the Second Arihant-class submarine, INS Arighaat, were commissioned in the Indian Navy in August 2024, and the inauguration of C-295 aircraft in Gujarat, promoting Make in India as its motto, is seen in Prime Minister-led governance. We also witnessed the achievement of Operation SINDOOR as a response to the Barbaric incident of Pahalgam-terror attack, which was systematically planned and implemented under the guidance of our respected PM.

Now in the Space Sector, we see a major change in FDI policy by providing 100 per cent FDI through the automatic route for satellite systems and components, up to 74 per cent for satellite manufacturing and operation and 49 per cent for launch vehicles and spacesports. This marks a new paradigm shift for the Indian Space sector and opens new opportunities to expand India’s space market.

To mark the legacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch “Sewa Pakhwada” (service fortnight) programme from September 17  to October 2, 2024, including the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and ex-PM Lal Bahadur Shastri.

This programme aims to promote local goods and services to achieve the goal of a developed India.

Hence, the governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi represents a multi-sectoral approach aimed at making India a "Viksit Bharat" or "Developed Nation." With this mission, the Prime Minister seeks to empower every citizen—from rural to urban, and from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari—leaving no one behind in this process of growth.
