The devastating flood that struck Nepal’s Rasuwa district on the 26th of August,2026 has raised a number of questions about Himalayan communities’ vulnerability to extreme events. The Nepalese Foreign Ministry said that huge volumes of water, mud and debris swept down the river of Rasuwa and then into the Trishuli and Narayani river systems within minutes.
